About

I always find it a bit akward to write these things. It's hard to write for an audience as general as The Internet, but I'll give it a go.

Me

A portrait of me.

I'm a 26 year old MSc Computer Science student, currently enrolled at the University of Twente. I've followed many courses over the seven years(!) I've been studying. Some of my favorites are:

  • Compilers
  • Software Evolution
  • Real-Time Operating Systems
  • Graph Algorithms
  • System Architecture
  • Machine learning I & II
  • Image processing and Computer Vision
  • Project management

…as well as all the CS Classics™ such as Discrete Mathematics, System Validation, and your obligatory programming courses. Aside from these, I have dabbled in Game Design, Character Modelling, Virtual Reality, Global IT Case Studies and International Communication. You can learn about my education, internships and working experience in my resume.

The "Real" Me

A picture of me and a friend (Peter) in Victoria Bay, Hong Kong I love travelling. I love meeting with friends over cheap coffee in small cafés. I love smokey bars with sticky tables, low music and good company. I love going to concerts and festivals. I love networking drinks and conferences. I love spending entire weekends and sleepless nights on projects.
I'm sorry if some of these seem contradictory. Rest assured -- they are not.

Proudly European! Dutch, more specifically. Born and raised, but always with an outward glance. I've been surrounding myself with an international crowd since I started my studies (seven years ago, if you recall) and I'm addicted to inter-cultural exchange and collaboration. I have been lucky enough to meet the most amazing people across the continent and beyond. I miss you all dearly. But I will see you soon!

Dedicated nose-breather and flower-sniffer.

You may have noticed the minimal styling on this personal webpage. It's not that I couldn't fill it with fancy animations and hyper-modern UX-design, but I don't think that is quite necessary. This website uses semantic HTML for your browser's convenience, which hopefully also makes the pages more accessible.
